Our Health and Social Care Management course is designed to give you the opportunity to:
- Foster an informed and critical attitude to policies and interventions used to improve the management of service development and client care within the health and social care sector.
- Enhance knowledge of leadership and management skills and how these can be applied within a variety of sectors.
- Be familiar with the methods used to collect and interpret data.

We offer variety in the way we teach: sometimes we'll set you problems so you can find the answers for yourself; sometimes we'll lecture. Most modules use a mix of lectures and small group seminars, and there's a good blend of online activities using our Virtual Learning Environment.

All of our teaching methods facilitate your development as a self-directed learner. Many of our lecturers have a background in the area of health and social care. You’ll be given personal support in your study – we're a friendly team of academics, committed to helping you achieve your goals.
You may already be skilled in your current career, perhaps working in health and social care or beauty and wellness, and now wish to progress to leadership in your specific field. Our students come from diverse fields including healthcare administration, social care, and public health.
This course could be for you if you’re looking to level up your current skills so that you can progress to management, policy, research, teaching (following an initial teacher training course) or consulting, or you’re interested in making a career switch into the field of health and social care.

Class Timetable: 2 Days (1 day online, 1 day on-campus)
BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care with Foundation Year at Bath Spa University is eligible for Student Finance England funding: a tuition fee loan of up to £9,535 per year paid directly to the university, plus a maintenance loan of up to £13,762 per year for your living costs. The built-in foundation year means you can start this degree without A-levels — ideal for mature students returning to education. Repayments only start once you earn over £25,000 a year.

Entry Requirements for Bath Spa University
1. Standard Route (Qualification-Based Entry)
Applicants can apply through the standard qualification route with:
Foundation Courses
Students require:
✅ UK Level 3 qualification with a minimum of 60 credits
OR
✅ Five GCSE passes at Grade C/4 or above, including:
- Maths
- English
Important Note:
- Qualifications should normally have been issued within 5 years before the course start date.
- For non-English qualifications, a certified translation may be required.
2. Non-Standard Route (Over 21 – Work Experience Route)
Students aged 21 or above may be considered through work experience.
Requirements:

- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
- Experience should be related to:
- Customer-focused roles
- Managerial roles
- Supervisory roles

3. Year 1 & CertHE Entry
Students applying directly to Year 1 require:

4. Alternative Entry Route (Applicants Aged 21+)
If qualifications were obtained more than 5 years ago, applicants aged 21 or above may apply through relevant work experience.
