Course Overview
The world has seen an increasing demand for Computer Science graduates, so choose a degree designed to prepare you for the real world from day one. With practical teaching from experienced lecturers and individual support from our Employability Service, you will graduate equipped to work in IT roles across a range of disciplines, including technology, business, law enforcement and public services.
On this course, we’ll teach you the fundamentals of computing and how it can be applied to the industry and wider economy, so you’ll graduate ready to contribute. You’ll gain hands-on, practical experience, obtaining the ability to design and develop software solutions for today’s big business problems.
You'll immerse yourself in the local tech community, with regular guest speakers and networking events allowing you to learn from the experts and make connections to support your future career prospects.
You won’t need any specialist equipment at home, as all the software you’ll use is cloud-based. Lab facilities at our London campus will house all the specialist equipment that you’ll need, such as high-spec computers and VR headsets.
During your time at the University you will become part of our Cisco Networking Academy, providing you access to courses and certifications (e.g. Cisco Certified Network Associate) that will allow you to develop the knowledge and hands-on skills required by industry.
You will also have the opportunity to engage with our Amazon Web Services (AWS) Academy and complete the Cloud Foundations course, which will prepare you for the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification – a key certification recognised in the IT industry.
Designed to fit around your lifestyle, the blended format allows you to watch core lectures online whenever suits you, meaning you only need to come onto campus one day per week for interactive workshops, academic coaching and support.
BSc (Hons) Computer Science with Foundation Year at The University of Law is eligible for Student Finance England funding: a tuition fee loan of up to £9,535 per year paid directly to the university, plus a maintenance loan of up to £13,762 per year for your living costs. The built-in foundation year means you can start this degree without A-levels — ideal for mature students returning to education. Repayments only start once you earn over £25,000 a year.

English Language Requirement for The University of Law
Applicants must demonstrate an appropriate level of English language proficiency. Applicants must have one of the following:
- GCSE English Language: Grade 4 or above
- IELTS: 5.5 or above, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component
- Equivalent recognised qualification
Applicants who do not meet these requirements may be invited to complete the University of Law English Test (ULET).
Entry Requirements for The University of Law (Foundation Year)
These entry requirements apply to The University of Law courses delivered with LCCA with a Foundation Year, which gives you a preparatory first year before Level 4 study. The entry routes on record for The University of Law at LCCA are:
Standard entry
- A Levels: CC–DDE
- BTEC: MPP
- UCAS Tariff: 64 points from up to 3 A Levels or equivalent
- Access Diploma: Pass (60 credits), including 45 Level 3 credits
- T Level: Pass with D or E in Core
- Scottish Advanced Highers: DD; Scottish Highers: AA–BCC
GCSE requirements
- GCSE English Language at Grade C/4 or equivalent
- For LLB Law with Psychology with Foundation Year, GCSE Maths and English Language at Grade C/4 or equivalent are required.
Mature / non-standard entry
- Applicants without 64 UCAS points may be considered if they have at least 2 years of relevant professional experience managing people and/or processes, provide a professional reference and successfully complete a formal interview.
- Applicants without GCSE English at Grade C/4 may be required to complete the University of Law English Test (ULET).
