Course summary
You will have the opportunity to complete a 60-credit project focussed on a tourism or hospitality management area of your choice. In this module, you will design and implement a research proposal, setting clear aims and objectives, selecting appropriate research methods, conducting a comprehensive literature review, and collecting and analysing empirical data. With expert supervision, you will receive training in research methods, research design, and the interpretation of data, ensuring that your findings are effectively contextualised within the field. This project allows you to integrate practical experience with theoretical knowledge, culminating in a substantial piece of original research.

Our passionate academics will give you one-to-one support, teaching you through lectures, seminars, study visits and group work with three hours of contact time each week for this part-time course. Plus, you'll hear guest speakers from diverse academic and industry backgrounds.
MSc Tourism and Hospitality Top Up at The University of Sunderland is eligible for Student Finance England funding: a tuition fee loan of up to £9,535 per year paid directly to the university, plus a maintenance loan of up to £13,762 per year for your living costs.
